The text book policy aims to encourage personal responsibility and support the sustainable  use of resources.
In effect from June 2022

Overview

When a student is no longer enrolled in the class for which s/he has checked out a textbook, or when
the textbook is to be changed with a new edition or volume at the teacher's request, all textbooks
must be returned by the end of the Term.

Failure to return books after 1 reminder will lead to a charge for the book on the student’s account.
This will remain on the student’s financial record as an open cost which must be cleared before any
award (diplomas, degrees) documents are issued. The prices of books are available via the price list in eCampus.

Rules

  • Students are responsible for the materials checked out on their textbook record.
  • Students should review the books for any damage when they receive the book(s) and report
any cases immediately to the Academic Office.
  • Students will be charged if:
    • They return a damaged book which was not reported when checked out
    • They return a book which has been written in which was not reported when checked-out

  • G (Good): The book has small signs of wear but no writing or highlighting anywhere in the book
  • F (Fair): The book has obvious signs of wear such as slightly loose bindings, occasional highlighting or note taking, on pages
  • P (Poor): The book is very worn and may be  scuffed, stained, or spotted, with loose bindings and/or heavy highlighting/notes on multiple pages.
